Week 2 Why did Jesus Die?

Why is it that an instrument of torture and execution is the most common and recognisable symbol of the Christian faith? Why is the cross at the heart of the Christian faith? What were your thoughts about week 2 of student Alpha? How did you get on with in your discussion group? How did you answer the questions?

• What is your reaction to the crucifixion?

• Do you feel that sin is an outdated concept or is it something you can relate to?

• How do you respond to the word ‘sin’ and the word ‘forgiveness’?

• Would you agree that sin is addictive? What do you see as the consequences of sin, if any?

Week 1 Who is Jesus? Student Alpha Dublin.

Thoughts from the night;

What an amazing turnout, 46 students. First I would like to say great job to everyone on the Alpha team. I think we were all surprised by the number of students that showed up. The talk was a bit too long, food a bit too rushed, but that’s ok we can fix that for next week. What about the discussion time? It would be great to hear the thoughts of  the student’s who took part.

• How was the question ‘What do people think about Jesus?’ answered in your discussion group?

• How did you answer ‘If you had a chance to meet Jesus how would you feel and what would you say to him?’
